UK postcode is called Post cod, not Zip Code

In the UK, the postal code is not called Zip Code (this is the way in the US), the UK is called the Post code mailing number. Generally speaking, the subtitles at the beginning represent the city abbreviation or the direction of the region. There are two sets of codes, such as G1 9XT, G1 is the first part, G is Glasgow, 1 is the city abbreviation, and 9XT is the second part, in order to make the post office more convenient. Find the address, specially compiled area code, usually many households will use the same zip code, but the house number is different.

The postcode of London is divided into 7 areas, E stands for East (East); SE stands for South East (Southeast); SW stands for South West (Southwest); W stands for West (West); NW stands for North West (Northwest); N stands for North ( north)

WC stands for West Central

EC stands for East Central

For example: The postcode of a dormitory at the University of Southampton is SO16 3UB, where SO means Southampton and 16 means an area in Southampton. 3UB, on the other hand, is specific to a certain neighborhood in the area. So, the postcode around this area might be SO16 3ZG.

There are exceptions, however, where postcodes in the city of London start with the abbreviation for direction. For example, the British Museum is located in the northwest of central London, so the postcode is WC1B 3DG. In Greater London, there are postcodes starting with N8 and WE11.
